42' Hatteras Long Range Cruiser for sale in Blyn, Washington

$125,000

Solitude was built by Hatteras under AMF ownership in New Bern North Carolina in December 1976. She is a tri-cabin full displacement ( 42,000 pounds ) trawler and 1 of 19 built from 1976 to 1979.
The Hatteras 42 LRC was introduced as one of the few alternatives to the influx of Asian trawlers imported during the era of fuel shortages. Her hull features rounded bilges forward that gradually harden to form a shallow "V" aft at the transom. Not surprisingly, the 42 LRC will roll somewhat in a beam sea - a common characteristic of displacement-type hulls but a worthwhile price to pay for her otherwise excellent seakeeping qualities. To counteract this, Solitude is equipped with a GyroGale Active Fin stabilization system.
Her conventional double cabin floorplan includes fore and aft staterooms, each with a head and stall shower. The salon has the lower helm with full instrumentation to starboard with custom built in helm seat just aft of the starboard door. Following the helm seat is a large L shaped sattee with storage and large adjustable custom teak table. A Sub Zero freezer with icemaker is to port, including a Princess 3 burner stove and oven, sink and Norcold refrigerator/freezer and microwave.
A superb cruising yacht, Solitude is equipped with twin GM Detroit 453N Diesels and consumes 4.5 GPH at 7.5 knots. With 4 fiberglass tanks holding a total of 740 gallons of fuel, her range is in excess of 1,200 miles.
